(Ecc 2:24 NIV84) Thank God it’s ____________________ BIG IDEA: Your work should lead you to a purpose ___________ than yourself. 3 reasons for our work 1. FOR ___________ – For Our Significance and Fulfilment ** James 4:15 - Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” ** John 17:4 - I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. ** 1 Cor 7:17 - Nevertheless, each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. 2. FOR ___________ – For the Benefit of the Community ** 1 Cor 10:24 - No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. ** Eph 4:28 - Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. ** 1 Tim 5:8 - Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 3. FOR ___________ – For the glory of God ** 1 Cor 10:31 - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. ** Col 3:23-24 - 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. ** Romans 3:23 - “... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ...” ** 1 Tim 6:6 - But godliness with contentment is great gain.
