From Surrender to Authenticity

Introduction

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:5) 

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Prov. 3:5)

3. Our life is a ___________ ______________ of surrender to God. (Mark 4:35-39) 

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:35-39)

Application Questions: 

1. Have we become too familiar with Jesus just like the town folk of Nazareth? Please share your reasons if you have or have not. 

2. Share a past storm or current storm where you did your very best and submitted and rested the outcome to God. What lessons did you learn from that experience? 

3. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Spend time in prayer with your CG members to be thankful for 2017 and surrender the past to Christ. Pray that we will know more of Christ personally and will continue to surrender our lives to Christ.
